Have you ever heard the saying, “you are what you eat” while still stuffing a beef burger and fries down your throat that you just got from the chip shop not too long ago? Yes…you all have, haven’t you?
But I have realised that this phrase has so much meaning to it that we all fail to understand. When we eat foods that is adding no nutritional value to our bodies and is filled with grease and sauce and so many other unhealthy habitats we start to become this way. Lazy, tired, out of energy and just frankly cannot be bothered.
I have researched a handful of successful people, and I have found that all of them make sure that their health is at the forefront of everything they do and make it a priority to feed their bodies with foods that will bring out the best in them.
When this beauty called the Nutri-bullet came into my life I started to develop a new found love for green smoothies. Yes, me – the person when I was a kid who would be the first to hide the veg in a napkin when my parents weren’t looking, because I couldn’t stand the thought of eating anything green that wasn’t sweets. However, recently I would hear everyone talk about green smoothies and the positive effects they have on your body, but I remember never being keen to try it out – until I did.
The smoothie fad has been extremely popular these past years. Every supermarket we pop into on our lunch break we see dozens of smoothie flavours serenading the front shelves of the fridge. But if they are so popular, why are we still so afraid to try them out? I can tell you why. Fruit and veg would never be our first-choice snack, let alone a drink that resembles bogies and has a handful of different vegetables we would never put into our mouths. If we want to be young and successful we need to follow the habits of highly successful people and if that means drinking a green smoothie everyday – then so be it. And over time you start to realise that having a green smoothie becomes a great way to start your day and actually becomes something you thoroughly enjoy having.
We need to learn that adopting a healthy habit and lifestyle will greatly contribute to us reaching our personal and work life goals, as well as becoming successful.
We are living in a time where we are constantly on the go and moving. So, eating healthy and putting the right foods in our body has become somewhat of a challenge for many of us. We often think, ‘how on earth am I supposed to eat healthy when I have a million and one things to do’ and the moment you walk into a shop with the intention to get something healthy and see that the melted cheese and bacon sandwich is only £1.50. Really?!
But, as I started to become dedicated to putting the right foods in my body I learnt that the power of a smoothie will do a lot for us by having all our nutriments and vitamins in one glass. Here is why it is important for us to drink one smoothie a day:
- Increased energy
- Better sleep
- Improved digestion
- Glowing skin
- Strengthens immune system
- Boosts nutrition
- Improved mental clarity and focus
